This weekend the biggest competition on the snowboarding calendar, X Games is going down in Aspen, Colorado. The four day event kicked off yesterday and saw Danny Davis take gold in the Men’s Snowboard Superpipe for the second year in a row.
His flawlessly stylish and technical final run scored him a massive 93.66 points, propelling him from fourth to first place.
Taku Hiraoka finished second, Iouri Podladtchikov in third, while former king of the Superpipe, Shaun White finished in fourth place.
While there aren’t any British snowboarders competing this year, skier James ‘Woodsy’ Woods is competing in Men’s Ski Slopestyle and has just qualified for the finals in 6th place!
Instead, most of the British snowboarding team is out in Kreischberg, Austria for the World Championships. On Wednesday Aimee Fuller competed in the ladies slopestyle and after qualifying in third place she eventually finished seventh after falling on her second run. Fresh from his ninth place finish at last week’s Innsbruck Air & Style, Billy Morgan will be competing in the Big Air this afternoon alongside team mate Rowan Coultas. Good luck guys!

The Freeride World Tour also kicks off this weekend in Chamonix, and the UK’s Sascha Hamm will back after his incredible third place finish on last year’s tour. You can follow the event here.
