Winter may be drawing to a close in most ski resorts throughout the northern hemisphere, but in Scotland, it’s far from over! Over the past few days it’s been dumping in Glencoe and, according to Snowaction magazine, it currently has the best powder in the world!
Powder days at the end of the April are pretty impressive anywhere, but it’s particularly unusual in Scotland where the season can peter out much earlier in the year.
Those lucky enough to get up there have been enjoying fresh pow for days, and in places it’s waist deep. What’s more, it’s still dumping and there were reports of “big chunky flakes” falling hard on Wednesday.
A statement from the resort posted to their Facebook page on Wednesday said:
“All upper runs other than Etive glades are now complete again, all mid mountain runs are complete and lower slopes are in great shape for accessing back down at the end of the day. Some further snow showers are due tonight before it clears to leave a beautiful day tomorrow with a light to moderate northerly wind and lots of sunshine. Plateau Poma, Wall T-bar, Cliffy and Main T-bar all expected to run tomorrow. We remain open for snowsports up to and including Monday 4th May”
