The last stage of Shaun White’s Air+Style went down in LA this weekend and was an exciting climax to what’s been an awesome series. After close fought events in Beijing and Innsbruck, the world’s best big air riders took to the massive scaffold jump that had been constructed in the Rose Bowl in Pasadena to battle it out for the overall title.
Big air events have become characterised by different variations of triple spins and this was no exception, but Yuki Kadono threw down an altogether different class of triple, winning the contest with a back triple 1620, switch backside 1260 and a switch backside triple cork 1620. Sebastian Toutant finished in second place, with Stale Sandbech coming in third.
However, it was Sandbech who won the series overall after winning the Innsbruck stage and coming second in Beijing. Yuki Kadono finished second overall, with Seb Toots in third place.
Britain’s Billy Morgan unfortunately had to pull out after injuring himself in practice.
Big congrats to the winners, and mend soon, Billy!SDUK Snowboarding News: LA Air+Style,
